Add your custom domain to the Cloudairy workspace

Verify Ownership

Verify domain ownership through DNS TXT records

Configure Subdomain

Set up custom subdomain URL for your application

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have the following:

Enterprise Plan: Custom domain management is available on Enterprise plans only

Domain Access: Access to your domain's DNS settings (GoDaddy, Cloudflare, AWS Route 53, etc.)
Domain Name: A registered domain name that you own and control

Add Custom Domain

Adding Your Domain

Start by adding your custom domain to the Cloudairy workspace. This step registers your domain with Cloudairy and prepares it for verification.

  1. 1. Navigate to Domain Management : Go to the Enterprise Admin portal and click on "Domain Management" in the sidebar navigation.
Path: Enterprise Admin → Domain Management
  2. 2. Click "Add domain" : In the "Manage Your Custom Domain" section, click the purple "Add domain" button with the plus icon.
Button: Purple "Add domain" button with + icon
  3. 3. Enter Domain Name : In the modal that appears, enter your domain name in the "Domain Name" field.
Format: yourdomain.com (without http:// or www)
    Example: cloudairy.com, mycompany.com
  4. 4. Confirm Addition : Click the "Add domain" button to confirm and add your domain to the workspace.
Result: Your domain will appear in the domains list with "Verify now" status

Important:

After adding your domain, it will appear in the list with "Verify now" status. You must complete the verification process before the domain can be used.

Verify Domain Ownership

Domain Verification Process

Verify that you own the domain by adding a DNS TXT record. This proves to Cloudairy that you have control over the domain.

  1. 1. Click "Verify now" : In the domains list, find your domain and click the purple "Verify now" button.
Location: Status column → Purple "Verify now" button
  2. 2. Access DNS Settings : The verification modal will open. Follow the instructions to access your domain's DNS settings.
Common Providers: GoDaddy, Cloudflare, AWS Route 53, Namecheap, Google Domains
Look for: "DNS records", "Custom records", or "TXT records"
  3. 3. Create TXT Record : Add a new TXT record with the following details from the verification modal:
    TXT Record Configuration:
    Name/Host: cloudairy-site
    Value: [verification-code]
    TTL: 3600 (or default)

    Note:

The verification code is unique to your domain and will be provided in the modal. Click the copy button to copy it to your clipboard.

  4. 4. Wait for DNS Propagation : DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate globally, but usually take 15-30 minutes.
    Typical wait time: 15-30 minutes
    Maximum wait time: 24 hours
  5. 5. Check Verification : Once you've added the TXT record, click the "Check Verification" button in the modal.
Result: If successful, the status will change to "Verified"
If failed: Wait a few more minutes and try again

Success

The verification code is unique to your domain and will be provided in the modal. Click the copy button to copy it to your clipboard.

Set Custom Subdomain URL

Configuring Your Branded URL

After domain verification, you can set up a custom subdomain URL that reflects your company or application name.

  1. 1. Navigate to Subdomain Section : Scroll down to the 'Set Your Custom Subdomain URL' section on the same page.
Section: 'Set Your Custom Subdomain URL'
  2. 2. Enter Your Subdomain : In the 'Custom Subdomain' field, enter your desired subdomain name.
    Format: yourcompany (without .cloudairy.com)
    Examples: enterprise, mycompany, app, portal
    Result URL: https://yourcompany.cloudairy.com
  3. 3. Review the Full URL : The system will show you the complete URL that your branded application will use.
Display: 'Your branded application will be available at: https://yourcompany.cloudairy.com'
  4. 4. Save Configuration : Click the 'Save' button to apply your custom subdomain configuration.
    Button: Purple 'Save' button
Note: Changes won't take effect until you save

Pro Tip

Choose a subdomain name that's memorable and reflects your brand. Common choices include your company name, product name, or a generic term like "app" or "portal".

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

Domain verification fails

If domain verification continues to fail, check the following:

  • Ensure the TXT record name is exactly "cloudairy-site"
  • Verify the verification code is copied correctly
  • Wait 15-30 minutes for DNS propagation
  • Check that your DNS provider supports TXT records

Domain verification fails

If your desired subdomain is already taken:

  • Try a different subdomain name
  • Add numbers or hyphens to make it unique
  • Use your company's full name or abbreviation

DNS changes not propagating

If DNS changes are taking longer than expected:

  • DNS propagation can take up to 24 hours
  • Clear your browser cache and try again
  • Use online DNS lookup tools to verify the TXT record
  • Contact your DNS provider if issues persist
